Salone Del Mobile 2018 Highlights: Part 1

This April the Olson and Baker team descended upon Salone del Mobile and it’s some, 300,000 visitors. Now in its 57th year, the trade show showed a lot of promise, given its previous years of fairly harsh criticism, we thought this year it fairly represented what is widely regarded as the furniture design industry’s most important design week. In a three-part series, we’re highlighting our favourite stands and pieces from the event…

Carl Hansen

Every piece of furniture produced by Carl Hansen & Son reflects over 100 years of furniture history with respect and passion for craftsmanship.

String

Hall 06 Stand D 39
Certain things become so strongly associated with an era that they become timeless. this is certainly true of nils strinning’s shelf system, string®, which was designed in 1949. it may seem strange that something as simple and humble as this little dainty light shelf with its thin side panels has become one of the twentieth century’s foremost design icons.
On the stand, the focus was clear, for us the star of the show was the Pocket Shelving.
