The internationally famed Drop Fully Upholstered Chair is a ground-breaking design from 1958. Its designer Arne Jacobsen is celebrated widely in architecture and design circles for his immeasurable contribution to the modern design industry. Fritz Hansen produces Drop Fully Upholstered Chair today using simple tools, quality materials and time-honoured techniques. The Drop chair was designed by Jacobsen as part of his masterpiece, the legendary Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The Drop was originally produced along with the Swan and the Egg but in a very limited number exclusively for the hotel. After more than 50 years in hibernation, the Drop is now launched once more.

Materials & Finishes
The Drop™ chair is available in several versions. The shell is made of plastic available in 6 colours and with
upholstery in a wide range of fabrics and leathers. The base comes with 4 legs made of chromed steel tubes.
The plastic chair is also available with legs powder coated in colours matching the shell.
Fritz Hansen offer a standard five year warranty against manufacturing defects (i.e. materials and design). Normal wear and tear and damage of covers are not covered by the warranty. The warranty for wicker and lamps is 2 years.

Arne Jacobsen is one of the greatest architects and designers of our time, an internationally recognised icon of functionalism. Saint Catherine’s College at Oxford University, the National Bank of Denmark, SAS Royal Hotel, Arhus Town Hall, the Danish ‘Bella Vista’ housing estate and the nearby Bellevue Theatre are among his best-known works. Arne Jacobsen was a functionalist, but he also stressed the aesthetic aspects of his work.
