It’s out of the box thinking saw this years choice aim to create a more optimistic and brighter kind of inspiration. We find ourselves considering Living Colour is a soft colour delicate and fragile but also energising vivid and vibrant the shape of Interiors to come. Whites & Warmth

The sensitive and warm nature of Living Coral is a dazzling fit for certain spaces, for example, nursery rooms. Coral-painted dens and side chairs look beautiful in Scandinavian Style interiors, especially when contrasted against the brilliant whites and other pale woods. White and light pastel tones work just as well, we adore the Noguchi Paper lamps by Vitra and the Made to Stay bubble lamps with the bright vivid Coral. Opaque lighting provides both a contrast of white when turned off and a warmer more inclusive look when warmed by the glow of artificial light.

Drawing again on the inspiration intended for this years colour. Coral is typically used as a colour that’s meant to feel playful and clean. Whilst it can be tricky using it as the main source of colour in the kitchen, it certainly puts you on the fast track to a creating a stylish and cheerful space. Again, if you want a more delicate look try pairing your corals with creamy shades of white and taupe. It tones down the drama of contrasting browns and coral and gives a lighter look and feel to the room. It’s also much brighter, open up your windows for some natural light and you’ll have a definite happy, playful space to bake in.

Ingredients of Coral

Coral is cheerful, tropical, stimulating and warm. It’s an energy color, more exciting than daring, but still fun. In nature, coral ranges from rich pinks to a deep reddish-orange, and the color can be found in the exoskeletons of tiny animals that form coral reefs, the petals of flowering plants, butterfly and exotic bird wings and bands of light at sunset. Coral is a positive chi color, both enlivening and soothing in your decor. Interestingly, Coral is a mix of red and orange, which ultimately means red and yellow, lightened with white. You can get coral by blending 3 parts rose-pink paint and 2 parts yellow paint, or, get back to basics, and mix 1 part clear orange, 1 part rich red and 2 parts white to lighten things up.
